• Every 68 seconds someone in the United States is sexually assaulted. Every 9 minutes, that victim is a child.
• 1 out of 6 American women has been a survivor of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime.
• South Dakota experiences 1.5 times the national average rate of per capita forcible rapes.
• Native American women are 2.5 times more likely to experience sexual assault than any other ethnic group in the U.S.
• 15% of sexual assault victims are under age 18; 69% are under age 34.
