The Compass Center Gala is the premiere fundraising event of the year for the organization. Join us for the 14th annual event on Thursday, April 20th at the Sioux Falls Convention Center!

Presented by Avera Health, The 14th Annual Compass Center Gala is an evening event to raise awareness for the mission of The Compass Center and honor the impact and important role it plays in our community. Funds raised at the event will be used towards expanding the reach of impact of The Compass Center by supporting initiatives such as:

ART THERAPY:
Artistic expression can be a valuable communication tool when emotions are difficult to articulate through words. Art therapy, facilitated by a professional therapist, is used to improve mind-body connection, foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, and reduce/resolve conflicts and distress.

NEW PROGRAMMING FOR TEENS:
Youth VIP is a program that engages youth in the process of solving community violence by training and equipping them to be advocates and educators among their peer groups.

LITTLE NAVIGATORS PRESCHOOL PROGRAM:
This program works in partnership with local preschool providers to allow for Play Therapy services to be imbedded into a therapeutic daycare setting, providing broad social-emotional learning services for all students plus intensive services to child victims of abuse. The program also provides parent support and professional development for staff at the partner preschools experiences in a developmentally appropriate way.

RAPE CRISIS HOTLINE:
Provides a trained advocate any time a sexual assault is reported at an emergency room or on the crisis hotline. Advocates offer victims emotional support, advocacy, information, and referrals to counseling and other community resources.

The 14th Annual Compass Center Gala provides an opportunity to connect and network with business leaders, influential community members and advocates, and staff members of The Compass Center. The evening will feature a sit-down dinner, desserts, interactive games and opportunities to bid on a unique selection of auction items.
